Water Trails

Water trails are recreational waterways on a lake, river, or ocean between specific locations, containing access points and day-use and/or camping sites for the boating public. Water trails emphasize low-impact use and promote stewardship of the resources. The Main Line Canal Greenway is fortunate to boast two premier water trails that provide excellent fishing, support summer vacation cottages and campgrounds and the growing canoe and kayak populations. The water trails run through areas rich with opportunities for hiking and biking, natural area study, exploration of historically and culturally significant sites, horseback riding, driving tours, and many other activities.
